Yogyakarta — Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Indonesia (Unusia) is expanding its academic collaboration with Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) through a partnership between the Information Systems study programs of both institutions. This collaboration was formalized through the signing of an Implementing Agreement (IA) during the APTIKOM National Conference (Munas) in Yogyakarta, focusing on the development of learning, research, community service, and human resource capacity building.
The IA was signed by the Head of the Unusia Information Systems Study Program, Sry Dhina Pohan, and the Head of the UMI Information Systems Study Program, Dolly Indra. Through this agreement, both programs are opening avenues for collaboration in organizing seminars and workshops, exchanging lecturers (guest lectures), sharing teaching materials, and developing learning innovations.
Beyond education, the partnership encompasses joint research involving lecturers and students, collaborative scientific publications, and conference participation. Both study programs are also creating opportunities for community service activities through training and empowerment initiatives. Enhancing the academic and professional capacity of lecturers and educational staff in the field of Information Systems is also part of the IA's scope.
This study program-level collaboration is supported by an agreement at the faculty level through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Unusia Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science (FTIK) and the UMI Faculty of Computer Science (FIKOM). The MoA involved the Dean of FTIK Unusia, Musaid Purnomo Juwono, and the Dean of FIKOM UMI, Purnawansyah.
Under this MoA, both faculties agreed on areas of collaboration regarding the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (*Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi*) and institutional development. The scope of the agreement encompasses curriculum development, faculty training, scientific seminars and conferences, internships, joint research, community service, system and product development, and graduate placement. This faculty-level agreement is designed to remain in effect for five years from the date of signing and is subject to periodic evaluation.
Through this partnership, Unusia aims to strengthen inter-university networks as part of its efforts to enhance academic quality. The collaboration is expected to create opportunities for faculty and students to broaden their experience, foster innovation, and contribute through education, research, and community service.
