Yogyakarta — The Informatics Engineering Study Program at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Indonesia (Unusia) has established a partnership with the Informatics Engineering Study Program at Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) through the signing of an Implementing Agreement (IA) during the APTIKOM National Conference (Munas) in Yogyakarta. This collaboration encompasses curriculum development, collaborative research, community service, and human resource competency enhancement in the field of Informatics Engineering.
The scope of the partnership includes faculty exchanges (guest lecturers), guest lectures, workshops, academic discussions, and the development of teaching methods. In the realm of research, both programs are opening opportunities for joint faculty-student research, co-authored scientific publications, and the exchange of research data in accordance with applicable regulations. The collaboration also extends to community service programs—involving mentoring and capacity building—as well as training to enhance the competencies of faculty and educational staff.
The IA was signed by the Head of the Unusia Informatics Engineering Study Program, Andi Aljabar, and the Head of the UMI Informatics Engineering Study Program, Tasrif Hasanuddin. This study-program-level agreement is part of an effort to build academic collaboration that supports the implementation of the "Tri Dharma" (Three Pillars of Higher Education) while expanding the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of information technology.
At the faculty level, the collaboration between the two institutions is also formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Unusia Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science (FTIK) and the UMI Faculty of Computer Science (FIKOM). The document involves the Dean of FTIK Unusia, Musaid Purnomo Juwono, and the Dean of FIKOM UMI, Purnawansyah.
The MoA covers collaboration in the areas of education, research, community service, and institutional development. The scope of the agreement includes lecturer training, joint curriculum development, the organization of scientific seminars and conferences, internships, collaborative research, system and product development, and graduate placement. The MoA is designed to remain in effect for five years from the date of signing, with periodic evaluations to review the implementation of the partnership.
Through such collaboration at the faculty and study program levels, Unusia continues to foster improvements in higher education quality and research development, as well as the application of science and technology for the benefit of society.
