Jombang — The Nahdlatul Ulama Higher Education Institutions (PTNU) Rectors' Forum took place from August 28–31, 2026, in Jombang, East Java, as part of the 2026 Nahdlatul Ulama Congress (Muktamar). This forum served as a platform for PTNU rectors from across Indonesia to conduct evaluations and reflections, as well as to discuss the strategic direction for the future development of NU higher education institutions.

Unusia Rector Fariz Alnizar attended the forum, which brought together leaders from various PTNU institutions. The series of events began with a working meeting on Friday (August 28) at the Kusuma Hotel & Convention Hall in Kertosono, focusing on evaluating and reflecting on PTNU's progress, strategic agendas, priority programs, and recommendations from the forum. These discussions provided a shared foundation for reviewing achievements and formulating steps to strengthen PTNU institutions moving forward.

"Unusia is present as part of the PTNU network. Together with other PTNU institutions, we are formulating more productive synergies for the advancement of PTNU," said Unusia Rector Fariz Alnizar.

Discussions continued through four strategic *halaqah* (discussion sessions) at Universitas Darul Ulum (UNDAR) Jombang on Saturday (August 29). These sessions addressed issues ranging from the restructuring of governance and legal relationships within PTNU, quality equity and financial independence, and the integration of *pesantren* (Islamic boarding schools), *Aswaja* (Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah) values, and higher education, to digital transformation, research, and global competitiveness.

In addition to strategic discussions, the forum featured a review and the launch of the *Aswaja* textbook for PTNU institutions, reinforcing the academic dimension of the gathering of NU higher education leaders. The series of activities concluded with a pilgrimage to the tomb of Gus Dur and participation in the main agenda of the NU Congress.

Unusia's participation in the PTNU Rectors' Forum demonstrates its commitment to strengthening the Nahdlatul Ulama higher education ecosystem.
