Jakarta — Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Indonesia (Unusia) has launched the "Cahaya Pintar" (Smart Light) Scholarship Program for prospective Bachelor’s (S1) and Master’s (S2) students. Registration runs from September 21 to September 30, 2026, and successful applicants will receive a tuition fee waiver.

The Bachelor’s (S1) scholarship program is intended for high-achieving prospective Unusia students from economically disadvantaged families. Meanwhile, the Master’s (S2) scholarship is available for the Master’s Program in the History of Islamic Civilization at Unusia’s Faculty of Nusantara Islam.

Bachelor’s (S1) Scholarship Requirements

Registration requirements:

- High academic achievement and from an economically disadvantaged family

- Willingness to commit to participating in all developmental activities

- Not currently receiving a scholarship from another party

Application documents:

- Certificate of financial hardship (proof of low-income status)

- Family Card (KK)

- Resident Identity Card (KTP)

- Birth certificate

- Passport-sized photo with a red background

- Legalized diploma or Certificate of Graduation (SKL)

- National Examination Result Certificate (SKHU) or final grade report

- Photos of the home, including:

Front view

Living area

Kitchen

Bathroom

- Statement of parents' income

- Scholarship recipient commitment statement

Master’s (S2) Scholarship Requirements

The "Cahaya Pintar" Master’s (S2) scholarship is available for the Master’s Program in the History of Islamic Civilization at Unusia’s Faculty of Nusantara Islam. Registration requirements:

- High academic achievement and from an economically disadvantaged family

- Willingness to commit to participating in all development activities

- Not currently receiving a scholarship from another party

Registration documents:

- Birth certificate

- ID card (KTP), driver's license (SIM), or student ID card

- Certified copy of diploma or Certificate of Graduation (SKL)

- Certificate of National Examination Results (SKHU) or final grades

- Photos of the home, including:

Front view

Living area

Kitchen

Bathroom

- Family Card (KK)

- Employment details

- 2x3 passport-style photo with a red background

- Income amount

- Number of family dependents

- Scanned copy of certified Bachelor's (S1) transcript

- Scholarship recipient statement/commitment letter

- Certificate of Low-Income Status (SKTM) from the local sub-district or village office

Once registration closes, the Cahaya Pintar Scholarship selection process will proceed through several stages. The selection schedule for the Bachelor's (S1) and Master's (S2) programs is as follows:

- Registration: September 21–30, 2026

- Document verification: October 1–2, 2026

- Interview: October 5–6, 2026

- Announcement: October 8, 2026

Through the Cahaya Pintar Scholarship Program, Unusia opens access for prospective students to pursue higher education with tuition fee waivers. Prospective applicants may participate in the registration process according to the schedule and prepare all the specified requirements.
