Bogor, Parung — The three-day Campus Life Introduction for New Students (PKKMB) at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Indonesia (Unusia) for the Class of 2026 officially concluded on October 3. On the final day, new students were not only introduced to campus life but also encouraged to develop their potential, care for others, and understand the academic environment that will shape their university journey.
A spirit of social concern was demonstrated through "Nawasena Peduli," a fundraising campaign for communities affected by disasters in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and Palestine. For this initiative, Unusia partnered with LAZISNU to facilitate the distribution of donations.
The young students also drew inspiration from four Unusia Campus Ambassadors: Ajeng Ayu Rahmadanti, Romy Nirwana, Rama Aditya, and Satriani. During an experience-sharing session, they discussed how students can make the most of their university years to hone their skills, maintain academic excellence, and take an active role within the campus community.
Satriani and Romy Nirwana emphasized that students play a vital role in representing their alma mater through their individual talents and contributions.
"We must have the courage to showcase our best qualities and serve as the face and embodiment of Unusia," stated Satriani and Romy Nirwana.
The enthusiasm for extracurricular engagement continued with the Student Activity Unit (UKM) Expo and the Nawasena Showcase. New students had the opportunity to explore various student activity units and witness firsthand the creativity and potential displayed during these events. These platforms highlighted the fact that student life at Unusia extends far beyond the confines of the classroom. During the closing session, Unusia’s Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Fatkhu Yasik, emphasized that getting to know the campus also means identifying the people students can turn to for guidance throughout their studies. He encouraged new students to get to know their Study Program Heads and Secretaries, as these individuals serve as the primary points of contact for assistance with various issues encountered during their university years.
In addition, students will be supported by Academic Advisors (DPA), who act as academic mentors—or "academic parents"—throughout their four-year study period. Fatkhu urged students not to hesitate to seek consultation, whether regarding academic matters or other issues requiring careful consideration.
"Most importantly, students need a support system so that their potential can flourish optimally and they do not lose their way during their academic journey," said Fatkhu.
"Nawasena Night" served as the concluding event and a moment of togetherness before the start of university life. The conclusion of the Unusia 2026 orientation program (PKKMB) marks the beginning of the students' academic lives as part of the extended Unusia family.
