Bogor — Unusia Community Service (KKN) students from Group MD-10 Layungkara participated in an aid distribution event for orphans and the elderly, organized by residents of RT 02/RW 07, Tapos I Village, Tenjolaya District, Bogor Regency, on Saturday (August 22, 2026). The students assisted with various aspects of the event—from preparation to execution—as part of their engagement in local community social activities.

The event was held to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence and the 5th Anniversary of "Jagapati Reborn." Jagapati is a youth community established in 2021, driven by the spirit of "Standing Together." During the event, dozens of orphans and elderly residents received gift packages and aid at the Bengka Permai Field and the courtyard of the Miftahul Jannah Jagapati Mosque.

For the local community, this aid distribution served as a meaningful way to celebrate independence through activities that provide direct benefits. The initiative was conceived as an expression of social concern for orphans and the elderly who require support from their community. The participation of various community members—ranging from children and parents to community leaders and local neighborhood representatives (RT/RW)—fostered an atmosphere of togetherness and mutual cooperation (*gotong royong*).

The event's organizing committee chair, Rahmat, hopes that the aid distribution will continue and serve as a platform connecting the community with the younger generation through social activities. He also encourages the sustained growth of compassion for others from year to year.

"We hope this event can serve as a bridge for continuity and connection between the community and the younger generation. We also hope that the community's sensitivity and sense of care for one another will continue to grow year after year," said Rahmat. The involvement of Unusia KKN (Community Service Program) students in the event helped strengthen their bond with the community of Tapos I Village. Walid Supendi, head of the MD-10 Layungkara KKN group, expressed his appreciation to the donors and sponsors whose support ensured the event ran smoothly.

“Alhamdulillah, the aid distribution event proceeded solemnly and successfully, thanks to the cooperation of all parties involved,” said Walid.

The assistance provided was intended not merely as an act of sharing, but also to alleviate some of the economic burdens faced by the beneficiaries. Moreover, the event conveyed the message that orphans and the elderly remain a priority for the surrounding community. Such occasions also create opportunities for residents and the younger generation to collectively foster a sense of social care.

In addition to the aid distribution, the festivities marking the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia and the 5th anniversary of Jagapati featured a performance by the band VERDE, a door prize giveaway, and various performances by community members. These activities were part of the residents' efforts to celebrate independence while upholding the spirit of togetherness and social solidarity within Tapos I Village.

The participation of Unusia KKN students in this event was part of a service process that brought them into direct contact with the realities of community life. By engaging in social activities with the residents, the KKN program served not only as a platform for students to execute their projects but also as an opportunity to learn, collaborate, and contribute to the community.
