Jakarta – Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Indonesia (Unusia) continues to bolster research development in the field of *Islam Nusantara* (Indonesian Islam) through the Mora The Air Fund grant program. This strengthening is evident in the work of two Unusia research groups focusing on developing the scholarly heritage of *Islam Nusantara* and *pesantren* (Islamic boarding schools) amidst technological advancements.

The two research groups are addressing the themes of "Jawi-Pegon Cosmopolis: Tracing the *Kitab Kuning* (Yellow Book) Path as an Identity of *Islam Nusantara* Civilization on the International Stage," led by Ngatawi, and "Pesantren Innovation in Preserving and Developing *Islam Nusantara* Scholarly Traditions in the Artificial Intelligence Era," led by Fariz. Each group comprises five researchers.

Progress on both research projects was evaluated during the Mora The Air Fund External Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) session held at the Unusia SmartClass Room in Jakarta on September 15. The event featured Prof. Dr. H. A. Kumedi Ja'far, S.Ag., M.H., from the State Islamic University (UIN) Raden Intan Lampung, serving as the reviewer.

The first study focuses on tracing the lineage of *Kitab Kuning* and the Jawi-Pegon tradition as integral parts of *Islam Nusantara* civilizational identity. Meanwhile, the second study examines efforts to preserve and develop *Islam Nusantara* scholarly traditions within *pesantren* settings, taking into account the rise of artificial intelligence. Both themes highlight Unusia’s research focus on the scholarly heritage of *Islam Nusantara* as well as the challenges of knowledge transformation in the digital era.

During the evaluation, one of the recommendations for further development was to expand data collection locations to enrich research findings. This step is crucial—particularly for tracing works by *ulama* (Islamic scholars) that have not yet been digitally documented—so that the research outcomes can open opportunities to utilize this heritage as a learning resource within *pesantren* environments. Through the Mora The Air Fund grant, Unusia not only fosters increased research productivity but also strengthens the study of the Islamic heritage of the Nusantara region, ensuring it continues to evolve and remain relevant to scholarly needs amidst changing times.
